Domain Scour is a brilliant site which comes in very useful especially for web developers.  Allowing you to quickly search a domain name and see if it is available and with which extension it can be used if it is.

Currently, the site offers lightning-fast search of 7 popular domain
extensions, two of which my partners and I cannot find on any other
competing site.  This includes the ever-popular .mobi extension.  Secondly,
the site provides quick options for every result, regardless of whether or
not it is available and allows users to register more than one domain at a
time.  More features, such as: Improved coupon integration, the Learning
Center, and hosting searches are planned for the coming days and weeks.

Domain Scour allows you to select the extensions to search through, those extensions include .com, .net, .org and .biz amongst others.  Then you simply type in the domain name, such as “mydomain”, and while you typing in the name it is already busy searching if it is available or not.  Not only does it tell you if it is available or not, but it gives you more options available under each extension, such as finding out why its not available, or even registering the domain you just typed in if it is.

Domain Scour will make searching for available domains and registering them a far more enjoyable process and much quicker aswell.  Not only this but Domain Scour is still a work in progress so they will add plenty more features.  From what we can see so far, and how functional and useful it is, things are looking good.
