Mind42

mind 42Looking like a lot like Mindmanager, Mind42 have put together a very user-friendly online web application to manage your mind-maps. Personally, I think this program works pretty well as a sitemap tool when putting a website together, but however you decide to use it, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by it’s great interface and logical construction. Once logged in, you can get right down to putting together your mindmap with colors, multiple nodes - all the usual features, and then some.

mind42.com is a browser based online mind mapping application. With mind42.com installing mindmapping tools is no longer needed. For a hassle-free mindmapping experience. Just open the browser and launch the application when needed.

Mind42 has incorporated a number of extra features that I think provide that extra bit of functionality to set it above the pack. You can export your mind42 mindmap directly to Mindmanager, or even just RTF. Publishing features include making it ‘live’ for the world to see, as well as allowing you to publish it directly to your blog platform. You can add icons for each node, add attachments, create links, choose colors.. It’s all really quite impressive. I think Mind42 has done a good job in making an offline application into an even better online version.

I put a mind map for a website I am working on there and now on the weekend when I want to sit down and work on it the site is down. I am very upset. But what to do , it was free. I liked the interface and used it but what to do now when i need it? one bad thing is overweighing all the good features it had. There are so many mind mapping sites out there and I am wishing I had used one of those. I hope the site comes back up with all my data, I had hours of work on there and I am used to online services being reliable.

Yep, just as the person above said. Fantastic software but goes down in the middle of my mindmap! Very distressing. I wonder what alternatives there are..
