Mind mapping is a tool/technique that many people have come to know and love because of the ability to visually comprehend complex data and/or idea schematics. There’s a number of applications that do this, some of whom have even been discussed on this site, however CoMapping have pushed the idea just that much further and have developped an application that does just that much more. The ability to work offline, an auto-collapsing structure that maximizes viewing space and a huge array of tools and options to setup, CoMapping provides an excellent mind mapping tool that goes way beyond the basic features that you’d expect an application like this to have.

Comapping which has transformed traditional mind mapping into a user friendly web 2.0 application. It has a unique auto collapsing algorithm which optimizes the user of screen. In addition we have deliberately chosen a left to right mind mapping technique since it provides a much better overview of the semantic structure. This really comes through when collaborating with multiple users. In addition it allows offline usage if one looses network connection, something that no other web-based mind mapping tool is able to do.

Powered largely by Flash, the platform is super smooth and really does provide much in the way of functionality and usefulness. Load times are quick and the UI is simple and to-the-point. These guys have recently received a grant by HP to take their project even further so I’m expecting to see some very cool developments with that kind of backing. Nice job.
